Tiki torch fuel
You
can’t have tiki torches without tiki torch
fuel. Basically, there are three types of fuel
for tiki torches: oil, propane, and electric.
All sources of tiki torch fuel have advantages
and disadvantages. The trick is to decide which
is best for your home and party.
The traditional tiki torch fuel is oil. Oil-burning
tiki torches tend to be a little less expensive
and are recommend for areas with a great deal
of insects such as mosquitoes. This is because
they usually have Citronella oil in them; a pleasantly
scented oil that is also an insect repellent.
Citronella oil is the most popular tiki torch
fuel and is used by most people.
The metal propane torches are great, because
they require no wicks and the flame burns steady
all night long, even with strong winds. You can
also choose the height of the flame with a master
adjusting valve, creating a light dimming effect.
The propane tiki torch allows you have a lower
flame for a more romantic, intimate setting, or
a higher flame for a large party. The propane
tiki torch fuel is easy to replace and tends to
last longer than the oil.
If you have to have a party indoors, then your
best bet is a tiki torch without fuel. Electric
or battery-operated tiki torches are just right
for this. You can have the real look of a tiki
torch, without the danger of the flame. With a
lot of children around, it is also best to use
battery-operated torches as there will be less
chance of an accident.
Remember, when using propane or oil torches,
keep them away from any flammable objects such
as trees, patio furniture, or overhangs. Check
for cracks and leaks and keep the torches clean
and repaired. Following these tips will also help
to prevent accidents. Be wise in choosing what
kind of tiki torch you will be using, and you’re
sure to enjoy it for many years to come.
