Solar tiki torch
Traditional
tiki torches versus solar tiki torches: what are
the benefits and disadvantages of each?
Deciding whether or not to get a solar tiki torch
or a regular tiki torch can be a difficult one.
After all, perhaps you grew up going to backyard
barbeques lit up by the flames of tiki torches
– they are so traditional, and they give
such a wonderful ambiance.
Also, it is possible to get citronella tiki
torches, and these have the added benefit of deterring
mosquitoes.
But there are also many benefits associated with
solar tiki torches. For instance, there is no
fire danger associated with solar tiki torches:
they are very safe. They are also very easy to
set up – you just stick them in the ground,
the same as you would a regular torch. There are
no extra wires or anything.
Many of them them have dusk to dawn sensors,
so you do not even need to worry about turning
them on. Also, solar tiki torches give a similar,
wonderful ambiance that regular tiki torches give.
Perhaps the main "problem" associated
with solar tiki torches, though is the light.
The light can be dimmer and less flickering than
the light of their regular torch counterpart.
Also, if there is no sunlight (because of cloudy
days or placement in the shade, etc.) there will
be no light emitted from the solar tiki torch.
