Tiki torch wicks
Tiki
torch wicks are most commonly made from fiberglass
or cotton. One of the benefits of fiberglass tiki
torch wicks is that they will stay better lit
during both rainy and/or windy conditions than
cotton wicks and other types of wicks. Also, they
rarely need replacing -- you can not burn down
a fiberglass wick. They could, however, eventually
need to be replaced due to contamination, poor
fuel, or long exposure to heavy storms.
To adjust the height of your flame, you need
only to adjust how much of your tiki torch wick
is exposed – the more wick you expose, the
higher your flame will be.
If you are not using fiberglass tiki torch wicks
(which seem to last indefinitely, even as the
fuel burns up), it is a good idea to check the
length of your tiki torch wicks before your backyard
party starts. Have a few extra tiki torch wicks
and some extra fuel on hand, just in case your
party goes well into the night.
